It is now July 2024.  Lavender, our Goldendoodle, is pregnant with her second litter.   The puppies are expected July 17th, give or take a day or two.  The father is Maui, an F1 Goldendoodle from  Woburn.

 

UPDATE:   The puppies were born July 16.  There are 5 females and one male.  Mother and babies are all doing well.  The photo below

The farm is located in Wareham, Massachusetts.  The Crooked River, here in Southeastern Massachusetts, is a tiny creek that empties into Buzzard’s Bay.  Before we bought it, this property was a sheep farm and a training ground for Border Collies.  Before that, it was a cranberry bog.  Bryan and Rebecca arrived from Cambridge in the winter of 2022.  Julie, who is Rebecca’s mother, joined them in early May from Northern California..  

 

Lavender, a California girl, is the sweetest, gentlest, most wonderful dog in the world.  When we had the ability to breed her with a loving, gentle (and handsome) Golden Retriever, named Bacon, whom we had known for many years (he is an older gentleman), we jumped at the opportunity.  She had eight beautiful puppies in her first litter.   We chose Maui for the second litter, hoping to produce slightly smaller dogs.  Lavender is 46 lbs, Maui about the same.

The puppies are now two and a half weeks old, they're eyes are open and they are learning to walk. They will be ready to go to their new homes in mid September 2024.
